The Culligan WSH-C125 is a popular choice for consumers who are looking to filter their shower water. Not only is this chrome-finished, wall mounted showerhead filter stylish, it’s an affordable option those who want to rid themselves of the chlorine or sulfur smells coming from their tap water.

Showers are supposed to make you feel cleaner, but if you suffer from chlorine, sulfur odors or other buildups in your tap water, they can actually have the opposite effect. The Culligan Wall-Mounted Chrome showerhead filter, which retails for around $30, can help remove some of those chemical odors and buildups so that showering once again becomes a pleasant experience.

We’ve taken a look at this shower head filter, looked at reviews, and while there are some negatives, the majority of what we found is very positive.

Pros:

Filtering Abilities -One of the strongest assets of this Culligan showerhead filter is in its ability to remove noxious smells from your shower water. As per the manufacturer, their patented filter removes 99% of the chlorine in your water, which in turns reduces the sulfurous smells and helps to minimize buildup. Manufacturer’s input aside, though, real-world testing verifies that this showerhead filter has an effect on the ‘smelly water’ problem. Some users report that this filter works well with hard water, too.

Low Cost – With retail prices running around $30 for the Culligan WSH-C125, it’s a very affordable option for homeowners and even apartment renters who want to rid their shower water of harsh chemicals.

Easy Installation – While some shower head filters require tools to install, the simple design of this filtered showerhead replacement only requires a set of hands to get you up and running.

Cons:

Poor Adjustment Options – The Culligan WSH-C125 does not adjust well, or really at all in terms of height. In fact, even running through the 5 different spray settings for this showerhead filter, it doesn’t seem like they affect the water pressure. This shower filter is more of a one-height, one pressure option for shower water filtering. If you’re looking for a showerhead filter with more adjustment options, you might want to look into the Aquasana AQ-4100.

Noteworthy Mentions:

Amongst the limited adjustment, there are sporadic reports of lowered water pressure and too-small of a spray radius for this Culligan showerhead filter. However, just about every reviewed shower head filter available has people reporting lowered shower water pressure — so take that with a grain of salt.

This showerhead filter is rated for 6 months or 10,000 gallons between filter changes. The replacement filters (found here) run about $15. There is a 5-year warranty on the showerhead, and your yearly costs will run about $30. However, unlike with some other showerhead filter options, there are very few reports about shower filters dying out prematurely. Which, this could lower your yearly costs.

Bottom Line: Despite the limited adjustment options, and sporadic reports of decreased water pressure, overall the Culligan WSH-C125 is a very good shower head filter option, especially considering the low price. Regardless of whether you’re a homeowner or apartment renter, swapping out your current showerhead with this chrome-finished filter is recommended if you currently have the smell of chlorine, sulfur or suffer from residue from your tap water. Well, and if you don’t need to adjust your showerhead up to accommodate your height.
