My apartment complex uses unfiltered city water, and it's terrible. Only after a week of moving in, my hair was flat, matted, and thick feeling. I found out the hard way that not all shower head water filters work well with hard water. Some specialize in the chlorine and chemical removal, but still left me feeling dirty. I tried the culligan shower filter, and despite a lot of good reviews, it didn't work well for me.

I decided to go more expensive, and I've had a jonathan product shower water beautification system for a couple of weeks, and I couldn't be more pleased with it - my hair has started to return to normal.

This looks like the one I purchased http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PI13SU?ie=UTF8&tag=option6572-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000PI13SU

Shower head water filters are a godsend for my apartment. my landlord won't do anything about the nasty smelling water, so I have to drink and cook with bottled water, but the sprite showerhead filter I got works great to clean out some of the yuck from my water.

The best shower filter for appartments is the chrome culigan filters. It's cheaper than the aquasana shower filters, the filters last for 5-6 months, and it got rid of the rotten egg smell in my water, and I feel better after a shower. I'm not very technically inclined, and I was able to install the shower head in less than 5 minutes.

Here's the culigan filter I bought: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006VVN1S/?tag=option6572-20

I had a terrible hard water problem in my appartment and I tried several different water filters, but really like the sprite high output chlorine filter. Plus, it was really cheap, less than $50.

I didn't know about water filters that you could place in your shower, and thankfully we found out about it as our apartment complex wouldn't do anything about the nasty water.

The hard water, stains, and smell that our water had made me feel icky after a shower, I was going mad. Thanks for your help.
