Sprite’s high-output shower head water filter offers cleaner water for your home or apartment in an affordable, and easy-to-implement, package.

Removing chlorine, rust, and smells from your shower’s water is pretty important, and the Sprite High-output shower filter does an excellent job of making shower-taking a more pleasant experience. We picked out a couple of things that we like about this shower water filter, and a couple of things that we didn’t necessarily like, and here’s what we found.

Pros:

Water filtration ability – Offering solid, and certified, chlorine reduction, this Sprite water filter not only makes a difference in the way that you feel after your shower — but even the reduction in the chlorine smell is apparent for those who have heavily chlorinated water.

Low cost – While this filter isn’t the cheapest on the market, it is very reasonably priced for what it offers. The filter should last for about 1 year, so with a cost of around $0.10 per day for the shower filter — it’s a pretty good deal, especially if you have chlorine sensitivities.

Easy to install / no-hassle upkeep – Much like many other shower filters, the Sprite high-output filter only requires that you remove your showerhead, add the filter, and put it back together. Because the filter is supposed to last for 1 year, there is minimal maintenance.

Cons:

No Showerhead – Unfortunately, this particular Sprite shower filter does not include the actual showerhead. For a few bucks more, though, you can pick up the Sprite high-output shower filter with the shower head included. For some people though, being able to use their own shower head may be a positive thing, but we are not personally attached to our generic shower head — plus, the model with the showerhead is literally only a few dollars more — this model should have been a little bit cheaper, or the other model a bit more expensive, in our opinion.

Ongoing costs – The Sprite high-output filter is rated for 1 year of use. All shower water filters have ongoing costs in this regard, so this part should be expected. However, some users are reporting that the filter wears out before the year is up — this will ultimately depend on how much water is being drawn through the filter on a daily basis. If you happen to be a moderately heavy shower water user, you can expect that the yearly costs for replacement filters will rival the costs for the unit itself.

Noteworthy Mentions:

Some user reviews for this Sprite shower filter report a slight decrease in water pressure after installing the filter. However, the reports of this are somewhat sporadic, and in most instances, the Sprite’s water filtration ability outweighed the minimal differences in water pressure — at least according to other user reviews.

Bottom Line: The Sprite High-output shower water filter is a competent, sturdy, and simple water filtration system for your shower. It does a great job at what it’s supposed to do, but because of the somewhat notable chance of having to purchase another filter before the year is up, we list this as a pretty good buy.
